JonOne, born John Andrew Perello in 1963 in Harlem, New York, is a French-American artist who emerged from the graffiti scene of the 1980s. Self-taught and driven by passion, he began tagging subway trains in his youth, quickly developing a style that blends urban street art with lyrical abstraction.
In 1987, JonOne moved to Paris, where he found fertile ground for artistic exploration. There, he transitioned from walls to canvas, translating the raw energy of graffiti into vibrant, abstract compositions. His works are characterized by explosive colors, dynamic movement, and layered, calligraphic strokes that evoke freedom and rhythm.
