Jürgen Lingl
Contemporary Sculptor – The Power of Nature, Brought to Life
Exhibited at the Ariel Jakob Gallery
Born in 1971 in Bad Tölz, Bavaria, Jürgen Lingl is a German sculptor renowned for his ability to infuse vitality and movement into his works. Trained in traditional wood carving under master Hans-Joachim Seitfudem, he quickly developed a unique artistic approach—using the chainsaw as a precise sculpting tool.
Since settling in France in 1999, Lingl has blended tradition and innovation to create sculptures of striking expressiveness and energy.
Working primarily with spruce wood, Jürgen Lingl sculpts animals and human figures with remarkable technical skill, refining details with chisels and gouges. Some of his works are later cast in bronze, preserving the intricate textures and raw emotion of the original wood.
His sculptures capture the essence of his subjects—majestic, alert, often wild—conveying a powerful sense of presence and natural force.
The Ariel Jakob Gallery is proud to present Jürgen Lingl’s creations exclusively, celebrating his bold vision of contemporary sculpture and his deep connection with the natural world.
